Supporting inclusion – Felix and family enjoy Wolves match with Komplex Care

Felix Shines as Wolves Mascot: A Proud Moment for Komplex Care’s Operations Director, Amy Varney

It was an unforgettable evening for Komplex Care’s Operations Director, Amy Varney, and her family as they attended the Wolves vs. Manchester United match. The highlight came when Felix, who is autistic, was selected to walk out onto the pitch as an official matchday mascot. Amy’s husband, Chris, and their eldest son, Ted, were there to share the joy of this truly special moment.

For many autistic children, large crowds and loud noise can be overwhelming, yet Felix handled the experience with remarkable confidence. Wolves created a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment, allowing him to fully enjoy the occasion. Amy reflected:

“Seeing a club create such an inclusive environment, supporting Felix and allowing him to be completely himself, meant the world.”

A key part of the evening’s success was the support provided by Soki Makarounas, Schools Officer at the Wolves Foundation. His calm, patient, and compassionate approach helped Felix feel safe and confident, and the immediate connection he formed with Felix made a huge difference for the whole family. Amy expressed her personal thanks for his outstanding support.

At Komplex Care, inclusion is not just a principle - it’s a commitment. The way Wolves supported Felix is a powerful example of what’s possible when someone is understood, empowered, and allowed to shine.
