Respiratory & Ventilation Care at Home

Specialist, nurse-led respiratory and ventilation care at home, guided by ITU nurse assessments. Tracheostomy and oxygen support from care teams with face-to-face, in-house training.

Respiratory & Ventilation, Home Care

Respiratory and ventilation needs vary from person to person. Individual clinical assessments, with input from experienced ITU nurses where required, help establish the level of respiratory support needed at home. Care plans reflect prescribed treatments, daily routines and individual preferences.

Care may include prescribed ventilation, tracheostomy care, airway clearance, oxygen support and respiratory monitoring. Dedicated care teams receive face-to-face, in-house training tailored to individual clinical needs. Care plans are regularly reviewed and adapted as requirements change.

When breathing needs extra support

Breathing difficulties can make everyday activities more challenging. Support should reflect your assessed needs, comfort and usual routines.

  • Everyday tasks may need more time or rest breaks.
  • Some people need support with coughing and clearing secretions.
  • Care should fit around the activities and routines that matter to you.

Independence includes having choice and control,
even when you need support.

Care begins

Care begins with regular reviews, updates and communication.

We provide personalised respiratory and ventilation care at home for children and adults, including ventilation support, tracheostomy care, airway management, oxygen therapy and respiratory monitoring. Each care package is tailored to the individual, with clinical oversight from our intensive care unit (ITU) nurses and regular nurse visits to review care and support the team.

Yes, where a clinical assessment confirms their needs can be safely met at home. Our care teams help people maintain safety, comfort and independence in familiar surroundings, supported by ongoing clinical oversight from our ITU nurses. Regular nurse visits help ensure care continues to meet each person’s needs. Our ITU nurses complete individual risk assessments covering airway care, ventilation, oxygen use and equipment safety where relevant.

Funding options can include NHS Continuing Healthcare for adults, Children’s Continuing Care, local authority or jointly funded packages, Personal Health Budgets, private funding, insurance and compensation arrangements. Eligibility depends on individual circumstances. Our team can discuss the available routes, while our ITU nurses assess care requirements and provide clinical oversight of the agreed package.

Our teams receive face-to-face, in-house training delivered by ITU nurses, using the full range of airway management equipment relevant to the care they provide. Our nurses also travel to the client’s home for regular face-to-face training using the client’s own equipment. This helps staff develop safe, confident practice, supported by competency assessments and ongoing clinical oversight.

Yes. We can provide waking-night and 24-hour packages, depending on assessed needs. Our ITU nurses assess the person’s clinical requirements to determine the appropriate support. Ongoing clinical oversight and regular reviews help ensure staffing, equipment and care arrangements remain suitable as needs change. On-call clinical support is available to the care team for concerns arising between visits, with escalation guided by the individual’s care plan. Risk assessments are reviewed when needs or circumstances change.

Complete our online referral form or contact our team with details of the person’s respiratory needs and current equipment. Our ITU nurses review suitability, complete risk assessments and plan the clinical oversight required. Care begins once funding arrangements, equipment and an appropriately trained team are in place.
